Mission
Community Overview
Outdoors is the best place to be in Mission, whose sprawling natural paradise encompasses greenspaces and attractions like Rolley Lake Provincial Park, Cascade Falls Regional Park, and Shangrila Farms.
Mission’s three-kilometre section of the ETF connects the city to a major trail in the centre of Matsqui Trail Regional Park. Cyclists and pedestrians can traverse the newly constructed Mission Bridge via wide, protected bike lanes, journeying north of the Fraser River where a major waterfront development is taking shape. The 3.5-kilometre riverside project, launched in 2020, will transform the area with community gathering spaces, residences, and retail establishments. From here, trail users can continue onward beneath the bridge along a scenic path that meanders alongside Horne Creek.

About The Info on This Page - Canyon to Coast Trail
The information on this page currently focuses on the Canyon to Coast Trail component. Experience the Fraser (ETF) is a recreational, cultural and heritage project that extends along the Lower Fraser River Corridor connecting Hope to the Salish Sea. The project consists of three main components:
-
Greenway - The Canyon to Coast Trail
-
Blueway - recreational use of the river
-
Experiences & Attractions - major attractions and experiences, community amenities and feature points
The information provided here is specifically related to the Greenway - The Canyon to Coast Trail which is the backbone of the overall ETF project. As of 2023, a continuous route has been mapped; however wayfinding signage for the route has not been fully implemented. Community reports, maps, and other information shared here are a resource for communities for informational and planning purposes only. The final route will be determined collaboratively with partners as part of the ETF implementation process.
